Carefest Contest Rules - Battle of the bands & Acoustic Show
Battle of the Bands
Entry
- Submit a video of full band performing (no more than 7 minutes) to carefest@resourcecare.org
- Smartphone recordings will be fine
- If you have a youtube channel, or facebook page that has performance videos uploaded you may send the link as your submission video
- Please include your Band Name, Contact Name, Phone Number and Email Address
- Please send a promotional photo that CareFest will be able to use on all social media platforms
- All entries must be received no later than Monday, March 11th 2024 by 12:00 pm.
- We will not accept any entries that are not emailed directly to carefest@resourcecare.org or that are past the cutoff date and time
Selection
- Our committee will select up to 12 bands based on performance and sound
- You will be contacted via email no later than March 15th, 2024 by 12:00pm
- The top four bands will perform on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 where a winner will be announced at the close of that evening
Location and Times
- All bands will perform at the Icehouse Restaurant in Albany, Texas located at 200 South 2nd Street (Entrance is in the back)
- Battle will start promptly at 6:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm
- Battles will be held on 4 Thursdays in April (4th, 11th, 19th, 26th) with Finals being held Thursday, May 2nd.
How to win
- Four Bands will complete nightly
- Winner will be determined by 60% judge’s vote and 40% audience vote – so bring a crowd with you!
- Winner of the night will move on to the finals which will be held on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024
- Time slot and performance nights will be random – your band name will be drawn for performance times
- At the finals – performance times will be determined by the number of audience votes you received and the total Judges score
Prize for the Winner
- Will receive $500 in cash the night of finals
- Will win a Band Photo Session with Memories by Malarie
- Will open up CareFest 2024 to be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024
- Band will play a 55 minute set
- Will receive up to 6 Band Passes to CareFest 2024
- Will be spotlighted on all of CareFest’s social Media Platforms for the 2024 event
- Band name will be on all promotional material for CareFest 2024
- Will receive dinner for 6 at the Icehouse Restaurant
- CareFest Merchandise for band members
Acoustic Showdown
Entry

- You will be contacted via email no later than March 15th, 2024 by 12:00pm
- The top 8 acoustic performances will perform on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 where a winner and runner-up will be announced at the close of that evening

- All acoustic performances will perform at Goodnight Steakhouse and Saloon in Albany, Texas located at 517 US-180
- Performances will start promptly at 6:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm
- Acoustic Showdown will be held on 4 Fridays in April (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th) with Finals being held Friday, May 3rd.

- Perform a 45 minute Acoustic Set in Festival Lounge at CareFest 2024 to be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024
- 2 Band Passes to CareFest 2024
- Will be spotlighted on all of CareFest’s social Media Platforms for the 2024 event
- Will receive dinner for two at Goodnight Steakhouse and Saloon
Runner-up will receive:
- $100 in cash the night of finals
- Perform a 45 minute Acoustic Set in Festival Lounge at CareFest 2024 to be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024
- 2 Band Passes to CareFest 2024
- Will be spotlighted on all of CareFest’s social Media Platforms for the 2024 event
